Join us for 2 hours of an Eno Triangle Pony Club exclusive, amazing, unmounted experience focusing on triaging equine emergencies; primarily colic and lacerations. This learning opportunity will start in the anatomy lab where skeletal limbs and equine colon specimens will be utilized to gain a hands-on understanding of these medical concerns. Thereafter, the participants will go on a cage-side "rounds" experience applying their new knowledge to live patients in the hospital! The day will conclude with lunch at Backyard Bistro.

Unmounted Clinic Cost is free to members, but space is limited to 15 members!

Dr. Anthony Blikslager

This unmounted clinic is presented by Dr. Anthony Blikslager, Professor of Equine Surgery and Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences at NC State University. He is the recipient of:

Dr. Blikslager earned his Doctor of Veterinary medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He then completed an Equine Medicine and Surgery internship at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1989 - 1990. After successful completion of this program, he then pursued a residency in Large Animal Surgery at NC State university from 1990 - 1994 thus becoming a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1995. Thereafter, he earned a PhD in Gastrointestinal Physiology at NC State University in 1997. His current research is primarily focused on equine colic and mechanisms whereby intestinal mucosa repairs after strangulating obstruction.
